CKE Kratom Lab Test Results (and how to read them)

How to Read CKE Kratom Lab Test Results
Want to understand what goes into our Kratom lab testing? This video walks you through how to read lab test results, ensuring quality, purity, and safety in every product. Watch now to learn more!
Introduction

The Kratom plant (Mitragyna speciosa) is naturally found in Southeast Asia, particularly in Malaysia and Indonesia, where it is both cultivated and harvested in the wild. Transforming raw Kratom leaves into the high-quality powder available to consumers involves a meticulous process to ensure purity and consistency.
At CKE, we take pride in delivering the cleanest and purest Kratom powder available. While Kratom may appear to be a simple botanical product, extensive quality control measures, including rigorous third-party laboratory testing, ensure its safety and potency.
Importance of Lab Testing
Independent, third-party lab testing is a critical step in verifying the quality of every batch of Kratom we import. This process requires a significant investment of time and resources, but it distinguishes us as a premium Kratom supplier committed to transparency and consumer safety.
To enhance trust and accessibility, CKE is one of the first Kratom vendors to provide third-party lab test results directly on our website.
Customers can quickly see the batch number and the MIT % of every package of Regular and Super Kratom powders.

To access detailed lab results, simply visit our website. Go to a product’s detail page and navigate to the tab “Lab Testing“. Enter the batch number found on the packaging to access the lab results:

Each batch is tested for purity and potency, and the results are documented in a Certificate of Analysis (CoA). For full transparency, these certificates are linked to the batch numbers printed on our product packaging, allowing you to access the results instantly.
What Labs Test For

Testing laboratories screen Kratom for a variety of substances to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards. While some naturally occurring compounds are harmless in trace amounts, it is essential to maintain strict limits on potentially harmful substances.
Plant Alkaloids (potency)
Kratom naturally contains over 20 alkaloids, with Mitragynine and 7-Hydroxymitragynine being the most significant. These alkaloids contribute to Kratom’s effects and potency, which can vary based on environmental factors such as soil composition, climate, and harvesting methods.
Our lab partners use High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to precisely measure the concentration of these alkaloids, ensuring consistent potency across batches.
Pathogens / Microbacteria
Pathogens are microorganisms that can pose health risks. While trace amounts of bacteria, mold, and yeast are naturally present in the environment, excessive levels can be harmful. The following pathogens are screened during our lab tests:
- Yeast
- Salmonella
- Staphylococcus aureus
- E. Coli
- Coliforms (commonly found in soil and water)
- Mold
To protect consumers, our Kratom products must meet strict microbial safety limits before being cleared for sale.
Heavy Metals
Heavy metals can accumulate in plant material through soil and water absorption. While eliminating all traces is impossible, rigorous testing ensures that levels remain well below safety thresholds. The heavy metals screened in our Kratom lab tests include:
- Mercury (Hg)
- Cadmium (Cd)
- Arsenic (As)
- Lead (Pb)
Our lab partners utilize Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), a highly advanced technique for detecting trace amounts of heavy metals with exceptional accuracy.
Gamma radiation is a safe and effective way to treat botanicals like Kratom, eliminating harmful pathogens, pests, and spoilage-causing microorganisms while preserving their natural quality. Using controlled doses of gamma rays from cobalt-60 or cesium-137, this process—known as irradiation—penetrates the plant material to neutralize threats without leaving residual radiation or altering its flavor, aroma, or nutritional value. Unlike chemical treatments, it’s a clean, environmentally friendly method endorsed by the FDA and WHO, extending shelf life sustainably. At our company, we treat all our Kratom with gamma radiation, ensuring every batch meets the highest safety standards while maintaining its purity and potency for our customers.
Understanding Lab Test Results
Below is an example of a typical Kratom lab test result, detailing 1) alkaloid concentration, 2) pathogen screening, and 3) heavy metal analysis.
In the following section, we will go through this sample lab report line-by-line:
1) Alkaloid Content + analysis of sample lab test result
In the sample test result above, we can observe the following values:

Here is how you can interpret them:
-
- Mitragynine: 1.75% (within the range of 1.0-1.3% for Regular strains, and 1.3%+ for Super strains)
- 7-Hydroxymitragynine: <0.010% (within the range of 0.000-0.100%)
-
Please note that our Super strains are classified based on their enhanced potency, boasting alkaloid levels that are 7-15% higher than those found in our Regular strains, as confirmed through rigorous testing.
Since Kratom is a naturally grown plant harvested from the wild, its physical traits—such as color, texture, smell, and strength—can fluctuate with the seasons and from one batch to the next. However, it’s worth noting that while the mitragynine percentage (a key alkaloid) may vary, kratom contains over 20 additional alkaloids that contribute to its overall effects.
This means that even with slightly lower mitragynine levels, the combined action of these compounds ensures the experience remains consistent and comparable across batches.
2) Pathogen/Microbacteria Screening + analysis of sample lab test result
In the sample test result above, we can observe the following values:

Here is how you can interpret them:
- Coliforms: <100 CFU/g (below the limit of 10,000 CFU/g)
- E. Coli: <100 CFU/g (below the limit of 100 CFU/g)
- Staphylococcus aureus: <100 CFU/g (below the limit of 100 CFU/g)
- Salmonella: Negative
- Yeast: <100 CFU/g (below the limit of 100,000 CFU/g)
- Mold: <100 CFU/g (below the limit of 100,000 CFU/g)
3) Heavy Metals Analysis + analysis of sample lab test result
In the sample test result above, we can observe the following values:

Here is how you can interpret them:
-
- Arsenic: 0.0589 PPM (below the limit of 2 PPM)
- Cadmium: 0.0312 PPM (below the limit of 0.85 PPM)
- Mercury: 0.0209 PPM (below the limit of 0.41 PPM)
- Lead: 0.421 PPM (below the limit of 1.2 PPM)
-
Each Certificate of Analysis is stored in our database and linked to our product detail page, based on the batch number, found directly on the product packaging for customer reference.
